Saint Malo - a Corsair City

Saint Malo is a thrity minute drive from Camping Chateau de Galinee, a town famous for its ramparts overlooking the sea and the Rance estuary.

The historical centre 'Intra Muros' (within the walls) provides a rich testimony to the town's history. Today it remains a town of great character and there is a very lively atmosphere in the summer.

It's a fine place to do some holiday shopping with some international brand shops present alongside others with more local and traditional offerings.

There are also many 'celtic' bars, superb fish restaurants and great art galeries.

Saint Malo also boasts a major aquarium well worth a half-day visit and for those looking for a refreshing Thalassotherapy spa  experience, Saint Malo has an excellent centre.

Whether you're looking for a good day out or a lively evening Saint Malo is an ideal choice whilst you are on holiday.

The road between Saint Malo and Dinard crosses the Rance estuary via the Rance Barrage. Here ther is the unique tidal electricity generation plant, the only one of its kind in the world.

Dinard - an elegant seaside resort

This reknowned seaside resort has its origins in the 'belle epoch' period at the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Rich British dignataries settled here for the summer months, the magnificent chateau-villas in the town and perched on the two main headlands providing ample testimony to Dinard's past glory.

Dinard has retained this elegance today and still benefits from a microclimate that allows has palm trees to survive ths giving a very distinct flavour to this most elegant of Brittany's resorts.

There is also a thalassotherapy centre in northern Dinard for those who wish a truly relaxing experience.

Saint-Enogat, Saint-Lunaire et Saint-Briac-sur-Mer

On your return to Camping Chateau de Galinee take the coastal route and discover the seaside towns and beaches of Saint Enogat, Saint-Luniare and Saint-Briac-sur-Mer.

Saint Briac has a pretty port and some smaller sheltered beaches.
